I have been on a hiadus

Life takes many twist and turns and I'm learning to take it in stride. I'm a planner, everyone knows this about me but this year has really tested me.... I had so much going on these past two weeks and guess how much of it I accomplished. Zippo, Nada, Nothing. Yeap, I had so many plans and nothing was accomplished.

My grandmother suffered a stroke a week ago. When we took her to the hospital, they weren't concerned with that but with the fact that she was anemic and dehydrated. She underwent two blood transfusions and immediately looked so much better. They sent her to CCU for observation and then they decided that she need to have surgery today. My mother, brother, and I discussed it and we felt that this would be a good thing for her to have done because if not she could suffer another stroke that could leave her paralyzed or even worse. We aren't willing to take that chance.

My sister-in-law and I planned a surprise Housewarming party for my mom on Saturday because my amazing brother fixed her house from the floor to the roof and it looks amazing. We basically have thrown all her old things away. I guess we felt she needed a new start of some sorts. I had to cancel it but I told her and she was actually disappointed so we're definitely re-scheduling when my grandmother comes home. I was also supposed to go to a card workshop with my scrappy friends to make cards for the Troops overseas. I'm going to try my best to do some so I can send them.

In Scrap World, I have been anticipating some kits that I've ordered. One from Cocoa Daisy,
one from SIStv, and one from WIP. Not that I have time to scrap but I couldn't resist these beauties... I definitely have too many kits.

I am leaving on Wednesday for Creating Keepsakes University in Orlando. I am so excited to meet Ali Edwards, Becky Higgins, Tim Holtz and the rest of the CK teachers. They are so inspirational to me...

Please cross your fingers and send a little prayer that my grandmother recovers well from this surgery.

Hi Ady, thanks for stopping by on my blog, you've been added to the RAK list, good luck :) Have fun at CKU, although I am pretty sure you will just love it. I have been to a CKU once and I had the best time.

Hi Ady:

Thanks so much for checking out my blog -- I'd love to chat with you anytime about green living. My friends have made fun of me for years, but now others are finally interested in what I do and I'm not considered such an oddity:) I also write a little green newsletter called Green Guys and Gals List, if you are interested.

Loved reading your blog and seeing your work. I hope your grandmother is doing well.
