December Daily- Day 2 & 3

So I'm really liking this size album.  It's allowing me to be quick and efficient.  I've even managed to photograph and post.  I am one happy camper.

Day 2- Journaling reads: We went to visit Jose at the rehab center after his knee surgery.  Jorge had a great idea of having dinner in South Miami before our visit.  I was in the mood for Sushi.  We had
never been to RA Sushi.  It was delicious.  I had a tuna salad and fish tacos. Yum! We walked around a bit on our way to visit Jose.  He is much better and coming home soon.

I didn't have enough space to journal on the front but I also didn't want to use the whole back side to journal so I used a tag and tucked it right behind day 3 and it just slides out...

Day 3:  the photo is dark, but it depicts the mood in D's room perfectly so I went with it.

December Daily 2012

Is anyone out there???

Wanted to get the month started right away with my December Daily photos, words and paper.  I always start out strong but somehow along the way I lose my mojo... That's been my motto this year but I will attempt it all the same.

Simple is the route I'm taking.  I'm using my December Daily kit from Studio Calico and following Ali Edward's simple approach this year.  I'm crossing my fingers that I can do it.

Yesterday began this festive month. I had the privilege of attending the most beautiful wedding of the year. Yes, I said it and it's printed.  My cousin (by marriage) married the love of her life last night and it was a beautiful, magical evening.

I was inspired this morning to dig in.  I haven't pre-done any pages so I'm gonna work on it as the days progress. I hope to work on it a bit more tonight since I'm home alone and just get some of the chipboard pieces decorated.

Here's Day 1

Making some changes...

I've been trying to decide what to do with this blog. I had every intention of making this blog about my love for scrapbooking. Unfortunately, some where along the road I lost the passion for it. Hence the lack of blog post. I'm only scrpabooking about one day a month with my scrappy friends but even then I'd rather have fun, chat and eat.  Don't get me wrong. I love the products and I'm still getting my monthly scrapkits from Studio Calico but I'm not putting them to good use.  My bff and I have been going back and forth with the same issues and we realized it's because we have too much stuff that is not getting used and it's bringing us down.  So we decided to pare down our stash and only save what we know we will use and what we love.  I'm loving that idea and I'm getting my scrap room revamped... Out with the old... This blog will also be getting some TLC in the coming months.

The other thing that inspired me was Amy Tangerine.   We took a class with her earlier this month at the Paper Niche and she was so awesome, down to earth, grateful, nice and she has an excellent way of teaching and connecting to her students.  I loved both projects and walked away with both completed... Whoohoo! She taught us some simple techniques that I know for sure I can do on my own.

I am a SIMPLE SCRAPPER!!! Feels good to admit it out loud.  I like simple, quick and cute layouts. If I spend too much time on a layout I lose interest fast.  She talked alot about finding what works for you and going for it. I'm inspired but before I can jump into scrapbooking again I need to purge...

Tropical Storm Isaac is here in Miami, Florida today so I'm using my time wisely and preparing for the long haul of cleaning out this room of all this stuff. I'm hoping to sell most of it at great prices and donating the rest to my cousins church.

Here are some photos of our day with Amy Tan... I forgot to take photos of my completed projects but I will soon.

Hello! Hello! Hello!

Yes, it's me... I'm back to blog world.  It's been one heck (for lack of a better word) of a couple of months for me.  My computer crashed and burned at home and I just hadn't had the time or inclination to do anything about it. I was surfing on my hubby's computer but I truly do not like laptops so I spent limited amounts of time on it.

I won't go on and on why I haven't been here but it's safe to say it's been a roller coaster ride.  I never would have thought to say it but I can't wait for school to be over. This seems to consume a lot of my "me time".

So what I have I been up to in the more recent past... Well, these books consumed about one week of my life.  I read them in record time and actually went back and re read book 2 and 3 again.  I would have read them in chronological order but my sis-in-law has it.

I LOVED IT!!! I loved the erotic encounters, the love story, the power struggle between husband and wife, the action and also the depths of an adopted child.  I am not an English major, I am not a critic but I am a woman that loved having some quiet time of peace and allowed myself to enjoy these books.  I totally recommend them.

On another note, I've been scrapbooking bits and pieces here and there.  I'm currently working on a vintage book from a class kit I purchased from Studio Calico in March.  I love how it's turning out but it is a bit difficult to work on the pages.  It's hard holding it down to create the pages.

Here's a picture of the front of book

Any plans for National Scrapbook Day?  Well, my dear friend Barbara has secured a clubhouse and our group of scrapbook gals are getting together and getting our scrap on. I'm excited and I hope that my mojo is just as excited to go because I'm super behind on my scrapbook kits.

I hope you made it through my post and I sure hope I still have my followers.  Hope to be back soon with more goodies..

Country Fair

I'm starting the year with a bang!!! I'm living my OLW everyday and I can honestly tell you that it feels so good.  I've used my January kit " Country Fair" to its fullest potential. It's amazing to me how many layouts you can do with just the main kit.  I'm done hoarding these beautiful kits every month and not creating beautiful layouts.

The Sunday Sketches by Studio Calico have jumpstarted my creativity and with them I've made three  layouts, an original layout and a birthday card for a friend.

Journaling reads: D had an awesome day with the Boy Scouts.  He was invited to ride the float thru Coral Gables.  They won for best use of creativitiy.  What a great way to start 2012 and his journey in Boy Scouts.

Journaling reads: This little girl makes us all so happy and joyful.  Gracie is such a happy baby.  She lights up a room.  When I'm with her I can't help but carry her and snuggle her and give her tons of kisses and tell her over and over again how much I love her.  I'm so proud to ber her Godmother. I plan on spoiling her to pieces...

Journaling reads:  I love my Vera Bradley Stadium Blanket that Jorge gifted me for Christmas this pas December.  The "Happy Snails" pttern is my all time favorite.  It give me joy every time I use it.

Journaling reads: I truly love us... We make a great team.  We work well together. We love unconditionaly. We listen to each other. We make each other happy.  I love that we get to spend the rest of our lives as husband and wife.

I have some scraps that I plan on making some cards... I'm making it a top priority to give out more cards this year... Cards are such a nice personal touch...

I'm really happy on how I've stretched this kit and can't wait to get my hands on February's kit from Studio Calico. It's filled with new releases for CHA winter 2012.  I haven't even been looking at sneak peeks because I'm holding true to my promise of using up my stash before buying new scrapbooking supplies.

Goodnight... I'm exhausted from a fun filled day.

Merry Christmas

to all my family, friends, bloggers and stalkers too. LOL I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  Mine was filled to the rim with greatness.  My home was filled with family and friends this holiday season and that is truly what I enjoy the most.

The festivites started on December 23 for my brother and cousins birthday. Since my brother was leaving for Christmas and New Years to celebrate with his wife's family, we celebrated a couple of days early.  It was great spending time with the cousins and exchanging Christmas presents.  I sure hope someone in my family took a picture blowing out the candles because I sure would like one. Hint!Hint!

December 24 was celebrated at my in-laws house.  It was great to catch up with old friends.  I haven't seen this couple since our wedding day almost 7 years ago.  This was a nice surprise for my husband.  My husband and his dad have a tradition of making a big in a "chinesse box".  This really doesn't translate well in English but they roast the pork for many, many, many hours and then we eat it in a minute...

Christmas morning gives me so much joy.  My boy was so surprised that he got everything he asked for.  Since he doesn't believe in Santa I really need to make him sweat a little so he can have some type of surprise.  For weeks, I've been telling him since he didn't make his wishlist that I was not spending any money on stuff he wasn't going to use.  We took him to Universal Studios with a friend so I told him that was his gift.  The look on his face was priceless.

Even I received some great presents.  My husband played a joke on me and wrapped my presents with newspaper.

We visited family and friends in the evening, exchanged presents and just had fun...

The best way to end the evening was seeing my beautiful God daughter Grace on her very first Christmas... I love this little girl so much and it's so awesome to have a baby in the family again that I can spoil.  This is one of my favorite photos. D looks terrified holding her and she is having a ball.

I'm off to pick up the mess in this house and continue working on my December Daily.  I'm determined to finish before starting any new projects.

Peace, joy and happiness...
