Happy Memorial Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful day or rather weekend enjoying our time off. I had a very relaxing, productive, fun weekend. I had a long list of things to do and I accomplished them all and than some. I cleaned out my closet and bought new outfits and four pairs of shoes. I was in desperate need of this. I've been consumed with scrapping that I have neglected my wardrobe.LOL... I scrapped with my friends at Damaris's house on Saturday and created six layouts while chatting away with my peeps Vane, Lou, Barbara and all the other wonderful woman...

On Sunday, I had a wonderfully long visit with my Grandmother that felt so good. You all know that she suffered a stroke and is unable to talk. It's funny because I don't understand a word she says but yet I know what it is she's trying to tell me. She loves to be all girlied up so I applied makeup, brushed her hair and painted her nails. She was in heaven and so was I... Let's move on because I'm wiping my tears as I write this... My DH has been craving Stone Crabs and he promised to take our son so we ventured to "Rustic Inn" for dinner. It's super pricie but oh so good.

Last but not least today D'Angelo and I had a wonderful day to ourselves. I treated him to a Wii game at Toys R Us. It was more of a bribe so that I can go shopping without hearing him nag... It worked... He complained once but I quickly reminded him of what I had just purchased. Jorge had a wonderful idea of having dinner outside which is something we never do because the sun is blazing in the afternoon in the yard but it was really pleasant except for the flies. I jumped on the opportunity to take some photos. It was a wonderful dinner for the three of us.

In Scrapbook related news... Have you checked out the kit for this month at Scrapbook Designs? Let me just tell you that I have made the most amazing layouts with the Jenni Bowlin kit. (Yes, I'm tooting my own horn). Let me explain... I am the type of scrapbooker that likes instant gratification. I don't like to cut too much, stamp too much, embellish too much... I usually get uninspired if it takes me forever to create a layout... but I did all of the above because I wanted to created spectacular layouts with the photos of my BFF's wedding... The layouts are posted in the Gallery so check them out.

I'll leave you with a quote from Andy Rooney:

Tomorrow is Memorial Day, the day we have set aside to honor by remembering all the Americans who have died fighting for the thing we like the most about our America: the freedom we have to live as we please ... Remembering doesn't do the remembered any good, of course. It's for ourselves, the living. I wish we could dedicate Memorial Day, not to the memory of those who have died at war, but to the idea of saving the lives of the young people who are going to die in the future if we don't find some new way - some new religion maybe - that takes war out of our lives.

Peace Out and have a wonderful week...
