My summer project

Good afternoon ladies... I wanted to tell you about my current scrapbook purging project. I read a great post by Ali on her blog. I tell you that woman can talk about s___ and I would listen. She has an amazing way of expressing herself that so inspires me. I'm super excited to be getting an amazing kit this month with her favorite products. It's travel based and that's great because I'll be traveling soon and I'll have plenty of products to work with.

(Not sure if I can post a pic of the kit yet so stay tuned)

Well, back to my project. She talks about Eco friendly stationary and I fell in love with them because I'm really trying to be "Green" so I found these at Target and couldn't resist. I'm going to go through all my magazines. The ones shown are only from the past couple of months. I have three bins of magazines that I do not reference at all. I'm sure there are projects that inspire me but having them put away does nothing for me. The plan is to pull out all those wonderful articles, projects and/or layouts that I love and put them in these binders. Kind of making my own idea book. How does it sound? Sounds like a great idea to me. Then I can recycle all the magazines and purge...

I'll keep you posted on the progress.

I also played with my June Cocoa Daisy kit which has the most beautiful papers. I love blue and green combinations. I decided to create this layout with Pencil Lines sketch. It came together rather quickly which always puts a smile on my face.

Peace Out...

That's a great idea. I have two binders sitting on my shelf waiting for me to do the same thing. They've been waiting since last summer... eek!

Love your layout...the green/blue look so pretty together. Gotta love Pencil Lines...they come up with some cool sketches! And I think the idea books are a good idea. I keep a big tabbed, binder full of ideas I get from all my magazines. Whenever I get a magazine, I sit down with a black sharpie and write down the first thought that comes to my mind (on the magazine page) about any layout that I like....I circle journaling ideas I like, put reminders for pictures I have that would be perfect for that layout, cool color combos, etc. Then I stick them in their tabbed section of my binder! Whenever I want to do a layout with flowers, I go to my "flower section"...a layout with circles...I go to my "circle" section, etc. Having them tabbed helps me stay organized and I can look at specific sections for inspiration!

Cute layout hottie!

I should "go green". I am the worst. I think it is because I am so damn lazy!

Have a great rest of the week!

Great layout!!! You look so beautiful in that photo! Love what you did with the page :-) I am dying to play with that kit, too! Plus, we now have the Ali kit and add-ons coming in July so how cool is that!? I can't wait!

Ady, that's an excellent idea. I've been thinking of doing the same. I love that layout!

i love the idea of just ripping out pages to keep, rather than the whole magazine... i used to keep the ENTIRE magazine... and when i moved last week, had stacks and stacks of them that were several years old. and i hadn't peeked back inside of them ONCE. i tried to donate them, but no one wanted them. can we say...time to recycle?

Ooooh, i did this for all of the wedding magazines I had...it works! Then, after the wedding, I cut down even more!!

And send us a link for eco-friendly stationary will ya? I'm looking for ways to get green!!!

Love the layout!!! And YIPPEE for the green references! You know I'm all about that. I bought some used 3 ring binders at a garage sale last weekend to add to my other random binder collection that contains all of my magazine articles from the past 10 years (LOL). I'm finally going to get all of my CKU handouts and other scrap/photo class handouts into binders as well. THEN (if I can find some time - ha!) I'm going to finally cover the binders with leftover scrap papers (more being green!).
P.S. I have a feeling you will get yours done before I even THINK about doing mine, and yours are going to be in those cool green binders....!
